Souper Bowl
Sure, football is on everyone's mind on Superbowl Weekend. But, if you're lucky enough to be in Santa Fe the Saturday before the big game, grab your spoon and get ready for the Souper Bowl! Sample an incredible array of soups prepared by several of the city's finest chefs and then vote for your favorite. There's also a silent auction, too. And even more significantly, all the proceeds from this festival event benefit the Food Depot, Northern New Mexico's food bank.

Civil War Weekend
History comes alive in more ways than one during Santa Fe's Civil War Weekend. Learn about New Mexico's dramatic role in the U.S. Civil War by watching incredible reenactments of battles at Glorieta Pass and Apache Canyon just outside the city. Aside from food and fun, festival activities include military drills, cannon firings and lots more.

Native Treasures Indian Arts Festival
The Native American role in Santa Fe's rich history is a significant one, and that fact is celebrated every May with the Native Treasures Indian Arts Festival. Shop for beautiful jewelry and other one-of-a-kind pieces made by more than 180 established and emerging artists from the Native American pueblos and tribes. The proceeds from the event benefit the Museum of Indian Arts and Culture.

Santa Fe Rodeo
The Santa Fe Rodeo is ranked as one of the nation's 100 top rodeos, and with good reason. This festival event is held every June, and features everything from barrel racing to bareback and bull riding. The rodeo has a rich history, as it has been roping in fans since it first was held back in 1949. This is an excellent family event, as the kids will enjoy the Mutton Bustin' event, carnival rides, and lots of great food and fun.

Santa Fe Wine Festival
New Mexico has the distinction of being the country's oldest wine-producing region. That alone is a reason to celebrate! The Santa Fe Wine Festival is held every July, and the highly appealing wares of the area's winemakers are available for visitors to sample and enjoy. An excellent glass of Chardonnay, Syrah, Viognier and others await to fill your glass. There's also live music, food and handmade crafts for sale, too.

Las Posadas
Las Posadas is a Christmas festival and tradition that warms the hearts of everyone who watches the story unfold. Held during mid-December, the traditional Spanish play depicts the plight of Joseph and Mary as they searched for a place to stay on Christmas Eve. The characters begin their journey from the Palace of the Governors and are joined by the crowds as they walk in procession around the plaza before returning to the Palace, where refreshments are served and the Christmas spirit is celebrated with even more joy and enthusiasm.
